Xbox gave us a new look at Halo Infinite during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase, but one aspect of the trailer stuck out sorely. Halo Infinite still has no release date, and that has us worried. Xbox were confident enough to reveal a few release dates during the showcase. For example, we know that Forza Horizon 5 is launching on 09 November 2021, whilst Starfield is slated for 11 November 2022. Xbox have currently scheduled Halo Infinite for Fall 2021, but the lack of an official date concerns us.

The showcase trailer, which you can see below, showed how Halo Infinite’s graphics have improved over the past year. Whilst it definitely looks better, the separate multiplayer gameplay reveal stole the spotlight. Everything that fans know and love about Halo is back, including all your favorite weapons, vehicles, and equipment. It was also announced that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will be free to play. That means it will be the most accessible Halo multiplayer yet.

There was also a cinematic trailer for Halo Infinite’s campaign, which revealed more about the plot. The new trailer, which you can watch here, shows Master Chief destroying a Covenant dropship, whilst memories of Cortana, the rogue AI, infest his mind. Chief and his new AI decide to venture out on a new mission to investigate the remnants of Cortana. “The missions changed. They always do”, says Chief as he inserts the AI into his helmet.
